“WaVe” – A Hydrogen-based Drive System for Commercial Vehicles

The joint project “WaVe”, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, aims to develop a hydrogen-based drive system for commercial vehicles in the medium-duty range and test it in field trials using various demonstrators. At the core of the drive system is a new type of hydrogen combustion engine, which is supplemented with all the system components required for the vehicle’s operation.

The project started on the first of July 2021 and concluded on June the 30th 2024.
